Homeschool Enrichment Program
Learning in the Garden, Fields, and woods. Craft in workshops, studios and Kitchens. Zion Grove opens its doors to a small cohort of children (seven to ten curious minds) whose families want something slower, deeper, and more focused on each individual child’s learning styles. This is an education program that conventional schools simply cannot offer. This is an activity based education, wholly built on how humans truly learn - by doing!

Child-led discovery beats passive instruction.
Every child is different, every child learns differently, all children learn by doing. Nature, the first textbook. Our hands, our first teachers. Real tools, real materials, children teaching children, children finding learning they love.

“Today, and in the years ahead, a child’s life will be saturated with technology. Zion Grove Offers children something rare: The real world — slower, tactile — where their hands, NOT their devices, shape what they learn.”

Resident Instructors
Arthur & Kimmy King

Arthur King graduated from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture with honors. Instead of pursuing a career right out of University, Arthur started his own nonprofit, working as an educator/art teacher to under privileged children from East Africa to the Caribbean.
Arthur then went on to pursue a successful career in design architecture, while also continuing to teach. Arthur is experienced and vetted, with a clean legal background check, and most recently taught design at the Haverford school in 2023. Arthur also homeschools his 3 youngest children.
Kimmy King is a successful culinary artist, with years of experience as a private chef and instructor in Los Angeles. While Kimmy thoroughly enjoys her work and craft, her dream of being a homeschooling mom of 5 has come to fruition. While Kimmy still pursues private chef work, she spends the remainder of her time teaching her young children the culinary arts, how to prep and prepare meals, the skills and techniques of a cooking lifestyle. Kimmy is also vetted to teach, and has a legal background check as well.

Guest Instructors:
Zion Grove’s resident artist will occasionally share their work, their process, or teach a class. Only resident artists with a will to teach, and passing background checks are welcome on the property.
Other guest instructors will be specifically chosen according to their skills, and expertise.

Enrollment and Fees
Our program serves children ages 3–6 and 6–12 in small, intentional class communities of 7–10 students, formed through a family interview and visit. We follow an 8-month academic season from October to May, with enrollment renewable each year. Tuition is $700/month for four school days per week, with a sliding scale available to support families of varied means—our fee is never raised, only lowered. Families may also contribute four volunteer hours per month in place of additional costs, reflecting our belief in shared responsibility and community care.
